Having started off at Iggy's at the age of 17, Chef Owner Javier inherited the recipe for a restaurant's success - passion, creativity and consistency. He hungers for knowledge and always strives to become better. When he turned 25, he left for Kyoto in order to master the unique Kyoto-European style.
Upon returning to Singapore, Chef Javier set up a dedicated one-man kitchen, IL DEN, serving Modern Japanese cuisine. Within a year, his distinct and unique style captured the attention of loyal foodies and the local media. Three years on, his style has evolved and grown with him, now specialising in his Modern Japanese Kappou style cuisine. With his new move to new premises, Chef Javier is introducing IRU DEN while forming his own independent group. Chef Javier and his team promises to serve up a complete dining experience to his guests.
